Officers find 2 meth labs in Scott County, arrest 4

ROBBINS (WATE) - Four people were arrested Wednesday when Scott County sheriff's deputies and drug agents found two separate meth labs.

The first arrests were made just before noon at the intersection of Highway 127 and Highway 52. Officials stopped a vehicle for traffic violations and found a large meth lab. 

Deputies arrested Steven Nagy, 28, and Chasity Hatfield, 28, both of Robbins.

Nagy and Hatfield are charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of more than 0.5 grams of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of the state's seatbelt law.

The second arrests occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. at a Robbins residence. 

Deputies and drug agents searched the property after receiving a tip that the residents were manufacturing meth in a shed on the property. Officials found a complete, large meth lab as well as 22 marijuana plants growing inside the residence.

Suspects George Bertram, 41, and Kristel Bertram, 39, both of Robbins, were arrested at the scene.

George and Kristel are charged with promotion to manufacture meth, manufacturing meth, possession of more than 0.5 grams of meth for resale, felony cultivation of marijuana, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
