NEWPORT (WATE) - State health officials are tracking an outbreak of E. coli O157 in Cocke County.
The health department has confirmed three cases of the illness. All three patients are children attending the same day care center.
Officials said the children were treated at a local hospital, though they were not hospitalized.
Their conditions are unknown and the source of the illness has not been identified.
Health officials say the daycare is cooperating fully. It is not being asked to close and all the families it serves have been notified.
