KNOXVILLE (WATE) - One woman is dead after her pickup truck strikes another vehicle head-on.

According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. Saturday on Jim Wolfe Road in North Knox County.

Officials say Claudia Dawn Davis, 36, was traveling northbound on Jim Wolfe Road when her white 1986 Ford F-150 pickup truck crossed the double yellow lines, and struck a green 1998 Ford Ranger traveling southbound.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say she was not wearing a seatbelt, and speed was a factor in the crash.

Authorities say it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision.

The driver of the green Ford Ranger, 34-year-old Robert Parson of Maynardville, and his son, 6-year-old Matthew Parson, were transported to UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say Robert Person was wearing a seatbelt, and Matthew Parson was properly restrained in a booster seat.

The investigation is ongoing.
