KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville man was arrested and charged Monday night with one count of child rape. Police say the case has more alleged victims and will result in more charges.

Police opened their investigation when they were notified on March 11 about an incident involving the rape of a 12 year-old boy.

The suspect, Christopher Howard, 45, of Cassell Valley Way, did not live with the boy.

However, three other boys between ages 7 and 12 who were under Howard's guardianship were removed from his home on March 11 and placed into state custody. Howard is not the boys' biological father or a foster parent, according to police spokesman Darrell DeBusk.

Investigators say they have identified several more boys and girls who are alleged victims, and more charges will be filed as the investigation continues.

Howard had a disorderly conduct charge in 2009. He's being held in the Knox County Detention Facility on a $1 million bond.
