NEWPORT (WATE) - Newport police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect of a pharmacy robbery last Friday.

Police say a man walked into the CVS Pharmacy around 8:21 p.m. and handed the pharmacy supervisor a handwritten note demanding oxycodone tablets and cash.

The robber revealed to the supervisor he had a wooden-handled handgun.

After getting oxycodone tablets and a small amount of cash, the robber fled the store.

He is described as a white male, 5'8" in height with a heavy build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing blue denim jeans, a white t-shirt with a skull and motorcycle engine design on the front and a camouflage cap.

The robber had several tattoos on his arms and a Bluetooth headset in his right ear.
