SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - A man wanted for kidnapping and torture in Arkansas was arrested Wednesday in East Tennessee.
Sevierville police say authorities traced Jason Ripley's cell phone 550 miles to a Sevierville motel.
Arkansas authorities say originally the woman went willingly with Ripley last Thursday, but then things went bad. They say Ripley wouldn't let her leave on Saturday.
Investigators say he beat the woman and burned her with a torch in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Sevierville police say Ripley was arrested at the Motel 6 without incident. Officers say he had baggies of cocaine and marijuana and two vials of meth.
Ripley is being held on preliminary charges of kidnapping and first-degree battery.
