NEWPORT (WATE) - The world's largest MoonPie is in Newport for the MoonPie in the Smokies Festival on Saturday.
The first ever festival is at the Cocke County A&I Fairgrounds from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. It also includes live music, a car show and a corn hole tournament.
Baked at the Chattanooga Bakery, the featured MoonPie weighs 30 pounds and is 32 inches in diameter, according to Cocke County Partnership Tourism Director Linda Lewanski.
MoonPie inventor Earl Mitchell, was born in Caney Branch near Cocke County and his first job was in Newport.
