KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Police say drunk driving may be to blame for a crash that injured two people early Friday. A car collided with two tractor trailer trucks on Interstate 40 westbound.

The wreck happened just before 2 a.m. near Midway Road.

Police say the tractor trailers were parked on the shoulder near mile marker 400 when the car crossed onto the shoulder and hit them from behind.

The driver of the car, Kelley Rector, 36, of Morristown, was injured.

One of the tractor trailer drivers, Robert Nolin, 40, of Greeneville, was also injured. Both were taken to UT Medical Center for treatment.

Police say Rector was possibly driving under the influence and charges are pending. A blood test was sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation lab.
