MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WATE) - A Middlesboro man was arrested Thursday and charged with attempting to murder a woman on May 18.
Middlesboro police say Erstil Sheckles, 46, was arrested and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Sheckles is accused of seriously beating Tammy Baker, also of Middlesboro, on several occasions through the night at a home on Webb Lane and then failing to give her medical attention.
Baker was so severely injured she was flown to UT Medical Center in Knoxville, where she is still being treated for injuries.
