KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville fire fighters point to a wheelbarrow filled with hot tar as the source of a fire on the UT campus.
According to KFD spokesman D.J. Corcoran, a passerby spotted flames around 9:30 Saturday night and called 911.
The flames spread to a wooden safety rail on what is slated to be the roof of the new music building at 1714 Volunteer Boulevard.
Knoxville fire fighters set up an aerial ladder to gain access to the roof. Corcoran says the fire was out by 10:05 p.m.
No injuries were reported and KFD believes the fire to be accidental.
