WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WATE) - The Whitley County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man accused of shooting at his girlfriend's ex-husband earlier in June.
The shooting victim, Henderson Leon Day, of Corbin, went to his ex-wife's residence on Oak Grove School Road on June 2 at 9:50 p.m. to visit his grandchildren.
When Day arrived, his ex-wife's boyfriend, Carl Wayne Scalf, 47, told him to leave.
Day was in the process of leaving when Scalf shot at him at least five times, according to the sheriff's office. Bullets struck the front windshield, the hood and the driver's side door of Day's vehicle.
Scalf chased Day, catching up with him and colliding with Day's vehicle a few times.
When Day got to Corbin, he pulled into a business.
The sheriff's office says Scalf never stopped. When he's in custody, he'll be charged with attempted murder and two counts of wanton endangerment first degree.
Scalf is described as 6'4" and 195 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.
Anyone with information on Scalf's whereabouts should call the sheriff's office at 606-549-6006.
