LANIER (WATE) - A Florida man is dead after wrecking on "The Dragon" Friday afternoon.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol reports says 53-year-old Harley Hogue of Naples, Fla., died after taking his 2006 Harley Davidson off the road while traveling U.S. Highway 129.
The reports says Hogue was riding northbound when his motorcycle ran off the right side of the road, and struck a tree trunk.
Naples and his vehicle then ran over a fallen tree before striking a standing tree and finally coming to a stop. The victim traveled a total of 50 feet after leaving the roadway.
Naples was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.
