KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A local daredevil gave downtown parkgoers a scare Sunday when he jumped off the South Knoxville Bridge.

Police say they received a tip that Matthew McIntosh, 29, was sitting on the bridge overlooking the water. Worried that he may be attempting suicide officers began to launch a boat to rescue him from the waters below.

McIntosh then jumped more than 80 feet into Fort Loudoun Lake.

He was completely unharmed in the jump. but he was charged with disorderly conduct for the stunt.

McIntosh said he just did it for fun.
