KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A West Knox County woman was injured Monday night when a man stalked her, broke into the home she shares with her mother and robbed her of prescription pain medicine.
The sheriff's office says the robbery happened shortly after 7:00 p.m. at a home in the 1200 block of Willow Hill Court.
Suzzane Frazier considers herself extremely lucky. She picked up her monthly refill of pain pills Monday afternoon and that evening a man broke into her home and attacked her.
"I really thought he was going to kill me," Frazier said. "He said, 'Where are your drugs?' I hadn't even taken them out of the bag yet. I said, they're on the chair just take them, just take them."
"He broke the window out in the kitchen. He got up the stairs. He came in my room and just started swinging at me with that dumbbell," Frazier said.
The attack didn't last long, but the man hit Frazier multiple times on the head. She had to have six stitches at Tennova Healthcare.
The man grabbed the pills and ran, getting into a white car as the passenger, according to the sheriff's office.
"Nothing like that really happens in this neighborhood," Frazier said.
But this isn't the first time someone has stolen her pain medicine. She worries the two robberies might be connected. "I was robbed four or five months ago so someone out there had my address and knew what I was taking and they never caught him," she said.
That robbery happened outside the pharmacy. Now Frazier has an officer escort her when she picks up her prescription.
"I did everything I was supposed to do," Frazier said. "I had the cop walk me to the car. There's nothing you can do if they're willing to break in for drugs and assault somebody."
Frazier suffers from sciatica and the suspect stole three bottles of her medication including roxycodone, Xanex and an antidepressant. She says the pain is extreme, and she worries she won't be able to get a refill from her doctor.
The suspect is described as white, appearing to be in his 30s, 6'0" and 250 pounds. He was unshaven with collar-length brown hair.
