KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville man pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to trying to get a 12 year old to engage in sex.
Raymond Boden, 58, is due to be sentenced on October 17.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Boden faces a minimum mandatory term of 10 years in prison up to life, a fine of $250,000, supervised release of five years up to life, and a $100 special assessment.
In May 2011, an undercover investigator with the Knoxville Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force found a public posting on Craigslist that sought a mother and daughter to engage in sexual fantasies.
The investigator responded to the posting, asking what the anonymous poster "had in mind."
Boden responded through his personal email account, saying he was interested in sexual activity with a mother and her daughter. He continued with a series of email exchanges with the investigator.
In June 2011, Boden arrived at a hotel, thinking he would meet the mother with her 12-year-old child. He was taken into custody and had sexual aids and a gift for the child with him.
He was indicted the same month.
