MARYVILLE (WATE) - The Blount County Sheriff's Office filed charges against a Maryville man after investigators say an altercation Sunday morning ended in another man's stabbing.

Deputies responded to the home of the victim, Dustin James Cooper, on Butler Mill Road in Maryville, at 9:30 Sunday morning. They found Cooper bleeding from his abdomen.

Cooper told deputies he and the suspect, Mark Andrew Webb, 49, had argued, then Webb pulled out a knife and stabbed him.

Webb, who lives across the street from Cooper, was taken into custody at a nearby residence.

Cooper was flown to UT Medical Center for treatment.

Webb is charged with aggravated assault. He's being held at the Blount County Detention Facility on a $15,000 bond and is scheduled for a court hearing on June 29.
