Knox County Commission extends contract with KTSC

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Knox County Commission passed a resolution Monday extending the county's tourism contract with the Knoxville Tourism and Sports Corp. until October 31.

County Law Director Joe Jarrett said the extension is a "stop-gap measure."

The extension will give the county more time to look over applications from other groups that showed interest in acquiring the city and county's tourism contract.

The original contract was set to expire on June 30.

Knoxville City Council will vote Tuesday night on whether the city will extend its contract with KTSC.
