KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A car became trapped under a tractor trailer Monday night on Interstate 40 in Knoxville. Knoxville police say the accident happened just before 10:30pm at the Cedar Bluff exit.
Officers say an unknown green vehicle hit a 1999 Hyundai Sonata on the rear driver's side. They say the Sonata then veered to the right and became trapped underneath the semi's box trailer.
The driver of the semi truck was uninjured. The driver of the Sonata was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Police say the driver is expected to be okay.
