Julia Hurley was elected to represent District 32 in 2010.
Kent Calfee is running on a platform that includes support for Pre-K education and smaller government.
"I'm looking very carefully at both candidates," said Brant Williams.

LENOIR CITY (WATE) - Two Republican candidates for the District 32 seat in the Tennessee House of Representatives faced off Monday in a candidate forum in Lenoir City.
Incumbent Julia Hurley and her opponent in the August primary, Kingston resident Kent Calfee, took part in the forum at the Loudon County Visitors Center.
The candidates are running for the seat that represents Roane County and parts of Loudon County.
Voters said they came out to learn more about both candidates.
"As a member of the Roane County Republican party and part of the 32nd district, I'm looking very carefully at both candidates," said Brant Williams. "I supported Ms. Hurley in the last election. She has a candidate running against her this year who is running as a conservative. I was just concerned to see how the 93rd-most conservative congressman that we have in Nashville could be out-conservatived by a newcomer."
