KINGSTON (WATE) - A man charged with the murder of a Knoxville woman in Roane County is now on the sheriff's office most wanted list.
Shawn Nelson Smoot, 40, is charged with the first degree murder of Brooke Nicole Morris, 23. Her body was found with a gunshot wound to the head at the intersection of Blair Road and Old Blair Road on October 15, 2011.
Smoot had promised to turn himself in Monday morning, but he never showed.
In court Monday, the judge revoked Smoot's $100,000 bond, and authorities have a warrant for his arrest. Officials believe he may be in Mississippi because he has friends and contacts there.
