KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Sanitation problems cost some Knoxville area restaurants points on their most recent health inspections, and one eatery had a really dirty situation.
Lowest Scores:
Hanna's Cafe at 1901 Cumberland Avenue - Grade: 62
The Knox County Health Department considers a score below 70 as unsanitary.
There was no sanitizer in the dishwasher, and no soap or paper towels at the hand sink in the kitchen.
Sewage and waste water was leaking onto liquor bottles stored in the basement.
Hanna's Cafe was reinspected and received an 80.
Taste of Thai at 213 N. Peters Road - Grade: 66
The inspector found brown stains on the floor.
A soup ladle was being stored on the counter between uses.
An employee didn't wash his hands between touching dirty dishes and clean ones.
Taste of Thai was reinspected and received an 81.
Passing but problems:
Bel Air Grill at 3820 Neal Drive - Grade: 70
There was rust discoloration in the ice machine.
A cell phone was in the meat cutting area.
Hard boiled eggs were cooling in the hand sink.
