KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A new seminar held Saturday is helping kids tackle bullying head on. The West Knoxville Jiu Jitsu club Gracie Barra Knoxville held its Bullyproof seminar.

The goal is to help kids protect themselves, not only from bullies, but also from child predators.

The club's owner said that more than 150,000 kids avoid going to school each day because of bullying and this is his way of reducing those numbers.

"We're not charging anything. We want this to be for everyone," said Samuel Braga, a six-time world Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champion and owner of Gracie Barra Knoxville.  "That's our main goal -that all the kids prepare and there will be no fear for them to go to school anymore."

If you or someone you know is interested in participating in the monthly Bullyproof seminars, visit Gracie Barra Knoxville's website here or call the academy directly at (865) 690-0088.
