Three dead after wreck in Sevier County

SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - Three people are dead after a traffic accident on Wears Valley Road.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol say the wreck occurred near the intersection of Wears Valley Road and Ogle View Road early Saturday morning.

Two vehicles were involved, officials say.

According to THP, 27-year-old Shaun Dunlap was driving his Ford Ranger southbound on Highway 321 when he crossed into the northbound lane and hit a Honda Civic head on.

The Civic was carrying the Dembla family. The driver Ashish Dembla, 26, and the passengers in the back, Satpal Dembla, 57, and Anjali Dembla, 51, were all killed.

Kanika Dembla, 20, survived the wreck and was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was said to be in serious condition Sunday morning.
