KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A high speed chase through a Knoxville neighborhood ended Monday afternoon when the suspect's car crashed and three men fled on foot.

The chase started after a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop the driver of a stolen car on Interstate 40.

The trooper chased the car until it crashed in a yard at Winston Road and Corteland Drive in West Hills.

After the car hit a mailbox and came to a stop, three men fled from the car on foot.

Two K-9 officers were brought in to help in the search.

A potential suspect was apprehended, but the trooper was unable to identify him. Because the man did not have any pending charges, he was let go.

Officers continued searching for the other suspects for more than an hour but were unable to track them down.
