CHEROKEE, N.C. (AP) - A new gambling agreement between the state of North Carolina and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is prompting operators to hold two job fairs to add 500 new positions.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reported that job fairs will be held at Harrah's Cherokee Casino & Hotel on Wednesday and again on July 25.

The new agreement finalized in June allows the casino managed by Caesar's Entertainment Corp. to offer traditional table games. A tribal leader said at the time he hoped most of the deal would be implemented within 90 days.

Harrah's is looking for experienced table game dealers and supervisors. It also will offer paid training for inexperienced table game dealers and supervisors.

The casino also will be hiring for bartenders, housekeeping and security.
