KNOXVILLE (WATE) - After thousands of young soccer players visited Knoxville, the city is playing host to another sporting tournament.
The 2012 World Horseshoe Pitching Championship is scheduled to start in three weeks.
The Knoxville Tourism and Sports Corporation expects some 1200 horseshoe pitchers will attend.
They will compete for the World Horseshoe Pitching Title over a two-week period from July 30 to August 11.
The event includes competitors from age 7 all the way up to age 93.
Admission will be free and organizers are encouraging spectators to come check out the action.
About 9,000 soccer players, coaches and family members attended the American Youth Soccer Organization's National Games 2012 in Knoxville last week.
