OAK RIDGE (WATE) - A Maryville man is accused of stealing more than $650,000 from an Oak Ridge medical center where he worked as a bookkeeper.

Jeffrey L. Russell, 64, is charged with stealing the money during a five-year period from Vascular Diagnostic Center of Oak Ridge Inc. and Physicians Diagnostic Services, as well as SunTrust Bank.

Russell was indicted by the Anderson County Grand Jury on eight forgery counts and two theft counts.

He allegedly stole the money by forging signatures when making bank deposits.

The indictments say the thefts began in the spring of 2005 and continued through May 2010.
