ONEIDA (WATE) - Scott County commissioners will consider two offers Monday to reopen the county's only hospital, which closed in May.

Under one proposed deal, Pioneer Medical Services would lease the hospital from the county for 15 years with an option for another 15 years.

A similar offer is on the table from Ameris Health Systems.

County Mayor Jeff Tibbals says both offers call for the hospital to operate on a for-profit basis.

The county would hand the property over at a minimal cost.

Commissioners will hold a question-and-answer session with both companies before Monday's meeting and then vote on the offers.

St. Mary's Hospital of Scott County closed after the county's contract with former operator HMA ran out and was not renewed.
