GREENBACK (WATE) - A Knoxville man was struck and killed by a train early Wednesday morning near Greenback.
Officers found Scott Allan Bowers, 54, dead shortly after midnight at the tracks near the 5800 block of Morganton Road, at Railway Drive and Cedar Church Lane.
Blount County Sheriff's Office deputies say Bowers was struck by a train on the tracks owned by CSX Railroad.
Officers do not suspect foul play, but they have not released information on what led to the accident.
Crews from the Greenback Fire Department and Rural/Metro Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
