ROGERSVILLE (WATE) - Officials say a regulated helmet may have saved a Rogersville man's life after he was involved in a motorcycle accident.

According to THP, the accident happened on Highway 11W in Rogersville around 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

Officials say Johnny Cinnamon, 34, of Rogersville, was traveling southbound when his motorcycle left the roadway and struck a concrete wall.

Officials say Cinnamon was not wearing a Department of Transportation (DOT) compliant helmet, and they believe this was a contributing factor in his death.
