KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville police are investigating a shooting that happened Saturday in East Knoxville.
Officials said the shooting happened on Summitt Drive just after 6 p.m. Officers arrived on scene to find the victim shot in the back and lying in the street.
The victim was sitting up and talking to officers when they got to the scene. He did not give them any information on the identity of the shooter.
The victim was taken to UT Medical Center. Knoxville police do not know his condition or what may have lead up to the shooting.
