JACKSBORO (WATE) - A regional businessman and hearing specialist turned himself in to Campbell County authorities Wednesday on charges of attempted rape of a woman.

Robert D. Moore, 64, of Jacksboro, is accused of raping an 11-year-old child in 2009. He's also charged with sexual battery of another female.

Officials say Moore turned himself in at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday without incident. He posted his  $100,000 bond and returned to work.

Moore is the owner of a Beltone hearing aid store in LaFollette. 6 News stopped by and tried to talk to him and get a statement. His administrative assistant said that Moore said he was too busy with patients to make a comment.

Shirley McCulley Goad is one alleged victim who chose to have her identity revealed. She says she has been Moore's patient since 2007 and was also paid to do odd jobs for him.

"As of April the first, he had asked me to come by there. He had some errands for me to run," Goad said.

She claims that's when he tried to rape her. "I was able to get away from him, but if I had not been as strong as I am it would have been worse that what it is," Goad said.

Moore is charged with one count of attempted rape for the alleged incident.

He also has a court date coming up in mid-September for other rape charges, according to the Campbell County Sheriff's Office.

Earlier this year, Moore was charged with seven counts of rape of a child. The alleged victim was 11.

Plus he's charged with sexual battery. The alleged victim was 13 at the time.

In February, Moore made bail for those charges.

Goad says the incident she was involved in changed her life. "I have problems sleeping at night over it. I can't even hug my pastor because I'm at the point of 'leave me alone, just leave me alone.'"

Moore's attorney says he will plead not guilty.

Goad says she came forward in hopes of helping other victims speak out. "In any case if a woman or child has been done this way, please go to talk to someone before it's too late."

The next court date for Moore's attempted rape charge is July 30.

Campbell County sheriff's detectives say if you have any information about this, or any case call 423-562-7446.
