KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knox County couple's frozen yogurt shop is the latest site for a cash mob to boost business.
Shoppers are invited to spend some cash and satisfy their sweet tooth Friday, 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Koolioz Frozen Yogurt, 10645 Hardin Valley Road.
"It's a locally owned mom and pop and we're happy to help them out because these mom and pops are getting run over by the corporations," said County Mayor Tim Burchett.
The self-serve and pay store has more than 30 toppings and rotating flavors.
The event will be the sixth monthly cash mob since Mayor Burchett kicked off the business-boosting campaign in February.
"I've said these are small businesses are the backbone of our economy," Burchett said. "If we don't support them they're all going to be gone."
Last month's cash mob at Stormer's True Value was hailed as a success by pulling in three days worth of business in just one day.
