KNOXVILLE (WATE) - No Knoxville area restaurants failed the most recent checks by health inspectors and one place only missed a perfect score by two points.
Passing but problems:
Subway at 2625 N. Broadway - Grade: 70
The Knox County Health Department considers a grade below 70 as unsanitary.
The inspector writes that she found roaches in the facility. However, she notes that Subway has been pro-active by working with its pest control company. The eatery was treated twice in July. A third treatment was ordered.
The inspector also found an employee drink without a lid or straw on a food preparation table. It's okay for employees to sip a drink, but a lid and straw are required to prevent accidental spills onto food.
The sanitizer level wasn't adequate in the three-compartment sink where pots and pans are cleaned, rinsed and sanitized.

Nagoya Express at 815 Merchants Drive - 88
Subway at 7654 Oak Ridge Highway - 87
Restaurants are inspected every six months. However, if a health department receives word from a customer about a serious potential problem, spot inspections can be done at any time.
