RUTLEDGE (WATE) - The sheriff's office is warning Grainger County recent about a recent scam circulating through email.
The scammers pose as FBI agents seeking personal information.
The email looks very authentic, even using the FBI logo. However, some of the emails contain viruses and should be deleted immediately.
The sheriff's office says, "It is common knowledge that the FBI does not send emails to private citizens."
Officers have received several complaints and have forwarded them to the FBI.
