LOUISVILLE (WATE) - A Louisville man was killed in a lawnmower accident Frida afternoon.
Robert Lewis Hale, 81, of Wayne Rankin Road, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Blount County Sheriff's Office, the fire department and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, responded to Hale's property on Louisville Boat Dock Road around 2:30 p.m.
They found Hale in a stream with about two to three feet of water and the mower on top of him.
Hale was driving the zero turn mower across a small wooden bridge when it fell into the water, landing on top of him.
Witnesses told deputies they hadn't heard the lawnmower for at least an hour before a neighbor found Hale in the stream.
