MARYVILLE (WATE) - A prayer walk was held on Saturday to help remind people that a Maryville teen is still missing.

17-year-old Hunter Barnes was last seen on June 13 taking out $1,800 in cash at the Alcoa Federal Credit Union in Maryville.

The walk was held at Maryville High School and hundreds of people came out to show their support for his family. Many had never met Hunter.

"I have two kids of my own, and one is Hunter's age, so I feel it is the thing to do to help someone else," said volunteer Julie Montgomery. "I would want someone to help me if my kid was missing."

The walk went from the high school to Kroger. Hunter had worked at Kroger for six months before he disappeared.

Hunter will be a senior this year at Maryville High School. His family says he is a quiet kid, but enjoyed participating in school activities. He had played football since he was in third grade.

Both of his parents are amazed at how the community has come together to help find their son.

"I couldn't ask for anything more," said Hunter's father Dale Barnes. "It's just awesome with all the support and prayers."

"We are very overwhelmed, very surprised, just can not believe it," said Hunter's mother Karen Click.

Hunter's family are still selling t-shirts to raise money for a reward. They have already raised the reward fund to $5,000 for information leading to Hunter's whereabouts.

The only items Hunter took from his home was his laptop and X-Box. Hunter's mother says he had never taken his X-Box out of the house before. She says he also left a note saying he was moving out.

Despite the note, she says he would always send her a text or call her to let her know where he was at. She says that is what makes his disappearance so unusual.

"If anybody knows anything, please beg them to call us and let us know or call the police department," said Click. "Hunter, we are very worried about you. Please come home, call us let us know you're OK."

Hunter was last seen driving a 2000 white Mazda Protege with tag number C37-08Y. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5'9" and weighs 150.

If you have any information on where Hunter Barnes is, call the Blount County Sheriff's Office at 865-273-5200.

A Facebook page has also been created to help in the search efforts.
