BLAINE (WATE) - Employees of a Grainger County medical clinic were evacuated Monday when a domestic dispute got out of hand.
Grainger County deputies say Christopher Britt, 48, got into a fight at Blaine Medical Center with his wife, Kimberly Britt, 48, where they both had appointments.
According to deputies, Britt said he was going to get a gun so he could come back to the medical center to shoot and kill his wife before turning the gun on himself.
The medical center was evacuated and closed for the remainder of the day.
Deputies arrested Britt at his East Emory Road home in Knoxville and he is currently being held in the Grainger County Jail without bond.
Monday's evacuation happened at the same medical facility of another violent incident last week.
Vern Long, 34, held Dr. John Neece hostage Tuesday before officers were able to subdue Long and safely release the doctor.
Long is facing several charges including aggravated assault and kidnapping.
Neece suffered minor injuries. He was also present during Monday's incident.
Britt was committed to Peninsula Mental Institution.
