JACKSBORO (WATE) - After a hearing Wednesday morning, a special needs woman from Illinois who was abandoned at a Caryville bar earlier in July will return to her home state for care.

Placement was set up for Lynn Cameron, 19, through the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities.

Authorities say Cameron's mother, Eva Cameron, abandoned her at the Big Orange Bar and returned to Illinois.

Lynn Cameron had been receiving care at the Michael Dunn Center in Kingston. A judge made her a ward of the state.

She will be transferred to Illinois on Thursday.

Criminal charges against Cameron's mother could come in a few weeks. "We are looking into the elder abuse law, the willful neglect or exploitation of and impaired adult. That's a Class E felony," explained Assistant District Attorney Scarlett Ellis.

The grand jury will discuss the possible charges on August 10.
