KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A man with stab wounds was found early Friday after apparently being stabbed near an Old City tavern.
Knoxville police found Jamie Biggs, 54, of Knoxville, shortly before 4 a.m. in the 200 block of South Gay Street.
Biggs had cuts on his right side and right thigh.
Police say Biggs told them he was sitting with an acquaintance behind Marie's Old Towne Tavern when the suspect pulled a knife and demanded his wallet.
The victim said they were both intoxicated.
Biggs was taken to UT Medical Center.
An investigation into the incident continues.
