POWELL (WATE) - The Knox County Sheriff's Office cited a driver Monday for hitting a Powell High School freshman at an intersection.
The 14-year-old girl was attending band camp at the school. She was hit in the crosswalk at the intersection of W. Emory Road and Camden Road.
Officers said the driver was a 71-year-old woman in an SUV.
The girl's mother took her to UT Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Officers cited the driver for not stopping at the crosswalk.
