MARYVILLE (WATE) - Police found Maryville teen Hunter Barnes in Santa Monica, California Wednesday after about a two-month search.

Barnes, 17, a William Blount High School student, is unharmed, according to the Blount County Sheriff's Office.

His family said they don't know why he went to California and they're working to fly him back home.

Barnes went missing on June 14 after he was seen withdrawing money from his bank's ATM. His car, a 2001 white, four-door Mazda Protege, also disappeared.

His family said his cell phone was turned off and few of his belongings were missing.

Family and friends sold T-shirts for Barnes to help fund search efforts. They also held a prayer walk in July.

Barnes' sister, Cheyenne Dale Barnes, posted on Facebook Wednesday, "This is from me and all my family. THANK YOU EVERYONE for all that you have done for my family. Thank you for the prayers because all of our prayers came true. God is amazing! Our family can't express how much it means to us to have all this support and all the prayers. Thank you to those who set up the walk and those that came. Thank you for all who bought a shirt. THANK YOU THANK YOU!"
