KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville police say a driver was killed Friday morning in a crash into a bridge support on Interstate 40 east.
Rachael Ann Hale, 44, of Knoxville, was traveling on I-40 east near the Strawberry Plains exit when the car left the road for an unknown reason at 11:58 a.m. and struck the bridge column.
Police say Hale was killed on impact.
The investigation continues.
