ROGERSVILLE (WATE) - Hawkins County narcotics investigators arrested three men Thursday night on accusations of drunkenness. One man is also charged with making threats against an officer.
The officers were involved in an ongoing narcotics investigation of the home of Clifford Kaywood, 46, at 4170 Beech Creek Road. They went to the home on reports of drunk people outside and a man waving a gun.
The sheriff's office said the officers saw what looked like a black handgun near the front porch and found several people outside.
Two of those, Robert Harlen Light, 41 and Chadwick Dean Arnold, 39, of Rogersville, are charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Light is also charged with retaliation on an officer for past actions, a Class E felony. He's accused of threatening to kill a narcotics officer who was at the scene. The officer was involved in federal drug distribution prosecution of Light's father.
Clifford Kaywood is charged with public intoxication.
Officers found the weapon was a BB pistol, rather than an actual handgun.
Light and Arnold are being held in the Hawkins County Jail. Kaywood was booked and released on a $250 bond.
