LONDON (WATE)- Former Vol Aries Merritt has quickly become the favorite to win Olympic gold in the 110 meter hurdles in London.
Merritt's time of 13.07 seconds was fastest of all qualifiers during Tuesday's heats. He advances to Wednesday afternoon's semifinals.
Merritt won the 2006 NCAA title in the 110 meter hurdles at Tennessee.
He won the gold medal at the World Indoor Championships this year in Istanbul.
