NASHVILLE (AP) - Authorities in Middle Tennessee say they have captured a schizophrenic patient deemed dangerous who escaped from a supervised facility for mental health patients in Antioch.
According to WSMV-TV, Kenneth Mallady had to be subdued with a stun gun by authorities in Hickman County after he was found Thursday.
In 2003, Mallady was arrested in the stabbing death of his mother and for partially blinding his stepfather but was found not guilty by reason of insanity. He was involuntarily committed to Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute.
He was later moved to Anne's Care Home, a supervised facility just outside Nashville. He walked away from the home last month and had a run-in with Nashville police, who were unaware that he was supposed to be under supervised care.
