MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. -
The Warren County Humane Society wants to find the person responsible for shooting a dog in the mouth.
A group of children found Corona bleeding and near death Wednesday evening.
A McMinnville family brought her to the animal hospital where veterinarians initially thought someone had struck her in the face with a baseball bat.
It was later determined someone placed a gun placed inside the dog's mouth and pulled the trigger.
The dog underwent surgery and was in stable condition as of Thursday night.
The doctors who worked on Corona say they've never seen injuries quite like hers before.
A police report has been filed.
Anyone with information on who might be responsible is urged to call the Warren County Sheriff's Office at 931-473-7836.
