Police: Similar suspects rob 2 businesses in East Knoxville

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Police say two suspects with similar descriptions robbed two businesses Monday on the same street in East Knoxville.

Witnesses said two black men entered Family Dollar, 2604 E. Magnolia Avenue, armed with handguns at 12:21 p.m.

The first suspect wore dark gray or black clothing and is just under 6' tall with a muscular build. 

The second suspect wore black and white clothing and is around 6' tall with a thin build. Both appear to be in their late teens or early 20s.

When the suspects couldn't get money from the store, they took a credit card from a patron.

At 12:43 p.m., two men robbed the Cricket store at 2131 E. Magnolia Avenue. Police say the men were similar to the Family Dollar suspects.

The suspects were able to take an undetermined amount of cash from Cricket.

No one was injured in either robbery.
