WHITE PINE (WATE) - Police say the death of a man found in a White Pine motel fire in June is a homicide.

The body of Eddie Taylor White, 72, who lived at Crown Inn, was found at the fire scene on June 29.

White Pine Police Chief Charlie Epps said there was foul play, investigators found blood at the scene and an accelerant was used.

However, the chief said even though White had a frail heart an autopsy was not able to determine his exact cause of death.

White was identified by his fingerprints. He was arrested multiple times on drunk driving offenses, the chief said.

Investigators have a couple persons of interest, the chief said, and police may take their case to a grand jury," Epps said.

The motel has not reopened.
