Home decor retailer takes over former Turkey Creek Public Market location

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Home decor retailer Garden Ridge is the new tenant for the former location of Turkey Creek Public Market in West Knoxville.

Garden Ridge took possession of the property at 11221 Outlet Drive on Wednesday.

First Commercial Real Estate helped Garden Ridge look at the Knoxville market since 2011, according to its realty President Keith Widmer. The focus was finding a location close to Interstates 40 and 75, near Turkey Creek.

Widmer said the Turkey Creek building accommodates the Garden Ridge business model. Plus a future extension and upgrades of Outlet Drive to Campbell Station Road were major factors in the decision.

Garden Ridge, one of the largest home decor retailers in the U.S., will open a 160,000-square-foot store.

The store will sell furniture, patio and garden accessories, art, botanicals, home textiles, housewares and holiday decor.
